1. What Information Do We Collect?

Personal information you disclose to us

In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us.

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the Services, request information, connect integrations, participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise contact us.

The personal information we collect may include:

  • Contact or authentication data

Sensitive Information. We do not process sensitive personal information.

Payment Data. We do not currently process or store full payment card details directly through Burt.

Information we collect from integrations and other third parties

In Short: When you connect third-party services, we may receive limited information needed to power those connections.

If you connect third-party accounts to our Services, such as through OAuth or API-based integrations, we may receive account profile information, identifiers, and other metadata required to provide the integration functionality you requested.

Information automatically collected

In Short: We automatically collect some technical information when you use our Services.

We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services. This information does not directly identify you by itself but may include:

  • Log and Usage Data. IP address, browser type and settings, device information, pages or features used, timestamps, and diagnostic data.

  • Device Data. Device type, operating system, and configuration details.

  • Location Data. Approximate location derived from IP address or device-level settings, where available. We do not rely on precise GPS location for core Service operation.

Google API

If you connect Google services, our use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

2. How Do We Process Your Information?

In Short: We process your information to operate, secure, and improve our Services.

We may process your personal information to:

  • Facilitate account creation, login, and authentication

  • Deliver and operate requested Services

  • Power connected integrations you authorize

3. When and With Whom Do We Share Your Personal Information?

In Short: We share personal information only in specific situations.

We may share personal information with:

  • Service Providers. Vendors that help us run the Services, such as infrastructure, observability, email, telephony, and support tooling providers, under contractual safeguards.

  • AI Service Providers. Providers used to power AI capabilities, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Vapi, which may involve speech-model providers such as Deepgram and Cartesia.

  • Integration Providers You Connect. Third-party platforms that you explicitly authorize us to connect to and interact with on your behalf.

  • Business Transfers. Parties involved in a merger, sale of assets, financing, or acquisition.

  • Legal and Safety Disclosures. Parties to whom disclosure is required to comply with law, enforce agreements, or protect rights, safety, and security.

We do not sell personal information.

4. SMS and Mobile Information

Burt, Inc. may process mobile phone numbers and SMS consent records to provide operational and transactional messaging services. Messages may concern shipment status and tracking, appointment scheduling, operational coordination, document requests, quotes and load opportunities, account alerts, and issue resolution.

No mobile information, including mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, or consent records, will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Burt may disclose mobile information to service providers solely as necessary to deliver and support requested messaging services. Those service providers process the information only on Burt’s behalf and may not use it for their own marketing or promotional purposes. SMS opt-in data and consent will not otherwise be shared with third parties.

Message frequency varies based on shipment activity, operational needs, and the recipient’s interactions. Message and data rates may apply. Recipients may reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for assistance. An opt-out request will stop further messages unless the recipient subsequently provides new consent.

5. Do We Use Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies?

In Short: Yes. We use cookies and similar technologies for core functionality and security.

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep users signed in

  • Maintain session state

  • Support security and fraud prevention

  • Remember user preferences

7. How Do We Handle Third-Party Integrations?

In Short: If you connect a third-party account, we may access and process related account data needed for that integration.

Our Services may allow you to connect third-party accounts and services, such as through OAuth. When you do this, we may receive certain information from that provider, such as account identifiers, profile metadata, and authorized scopes.

We use this information only for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice and to provide the integration features you requested. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the privacy practices of third-party services. We recommend reviewing each provider’s privacy notice.

8. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?

In Short: We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this notice, unless law requires longer retention.

We retain personal information while your account is active and for a limited period after account termination, generally not longer than six (6) months, unless:

  • A longer retention period is required by law

  • Retention is needed for legitimate legal, tax, accounting, security, or compliance purposes

When we no longer have an ongoing business need, we delete or anonymize personal information. If deletion is not immediately possible, such as in backup archives, we isolate and securely store the data until deletion is feasible.

We implement safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will never be able to defeat security measures. You should access Services only in secure environments.

Withdrawing your consent

For SMS communications, you may withdraw consent by replying STOP. After an opt-out request is processed, no further SMS messages will be sent unless you subsequently provide new consent.

Opting out of marketing communications

You can unsubscribe from marketing communications using unsubscribe links in messages we send or by contacting us directly. We may still send non-marketing service communications where permitted.

Account information

12. Controls for Do-Not-Track Features

Most browsers include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) setting. Because no uniform standard has been finalized for DNT signals, we do not currently respond to DNT signals. If that changes, we will describe the change in an updated Privacy Notice.
